Cancellation and Refund Policy

FEE POLICY

  1. The vehicle needs to be returned at the specified Date and Time as mentioned on the website/booking confirmation/invoice copy. A delay of more than 15 minutes without intimating the customer care or Field executive will attract penalty as per vendor T&C.
  2. A Trip extension request is to be made at least 48 hour before the drop-off time. Such requests are to be made to the Customer care, our website or Field executive over the phone. The request will be confirmed or denied as per the availability of vehicles. In case the customer doesn’t drop the vehicle in spite of a denied extension request, penalty charges will be applicable.
  3. The customer is not authorized to lend the vehicle to any person without first informing Fastrental.
  4. In case of damages or scratches, full amount of repair has to be paid by the customer for that part of vehicle as per the cost given by Authorized service center.
  5. In case of damage to the vehicle on rent due to accident/mishandling/carelessness, appropriate charges will be calculated by the vendor and the customer is liable to pay the same to the vendor along with the daily tariff until the vehicle is ready for renting again.
  6. In case of theft, the customer is liable to pay, in full, the market rate of the vehicle.
  7. In case of engine fault or failure, the customer needs to contact the vendor or Field Executive before getting any repairs done. The original printed invoice is mandatory to claim reimbursement for the same.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The Driver needs to be 21 years of age or older to rent a vehicle and should have a minimum driving experience of 2 years. If the rider is under the stipulated age, his or her order will be cancelled without any refund.
  2. The documents mentioned below need to be verified, in original, for each rider.
    1. Document 1 – Driving License
    2. Document 2 – Passport, Election Card, Aadhaar Card. (Any one of the above).
  3. Vehicle bookings are subject to availability. Fastrental reserves the right to cancel any booking if deemed necessary.
  4. Driver should respect and follow Traffic rules and regulations. All Challans issued due to rider negligence need to be paid in full to the penalizing authority.
  5. Driving under the influence of Alcohol/Drugs is strictly prohibited. Fastrental will not be responsible to compensate for any mishaps and their consequences in such cases. The customer will be liable to pay for all damages to the vendor for the same. If any damage done to the vehicle accidentally by customer then all damage will be paid by the customer without claiming any insurance.
  6. Customer has to drop the vehicle at the same location as per given in their booking confirmation. No requests will be accommodated for a change in the drop location.
  7. In case a customer feels that they will be late for the drop, they should call the field executive or customer care and ask for a trip extension. Extensions are subject to availability.
  8. The Pick-up date, time and location cannot be changed once a booking is confirmed.
  9. The Drop-off date, time and location cannot be changed once a booking is confirmed.

CAR RENTAL GENERAL POLICIES

1. Definition of “New Car”

For the purpose of rental categorization, a “New Car” is defined as any vehicle manufactured within the last five (5) years by its respective car manufacturer and currently in active market circulation. Vehicles older than five years can also be classified as “New Car” if they are maintained and are in excellent condition.

2. Vehicle Availability, Upgrades, and Downgrades

Fastrental aims to provide customers with the exact vehicle model booked at the time of reservation. However, in circumstances where the reserved vehicle is unavailable, Fastrental may provide a replacement vehicle from the same segment, including but not limited to: Hatchback, Sedan, Compact SUV, SUV, MPV, Off-Road

Depending on availability, Fastrental may offer the customer an upgrade or downgrade within the same segment category. If a replacement vehicle results in a significant price difference, the following will apply:

  • If the replacement vehicle costs less, the difference will be refunded or adjusted for the customer.
  • If the replacement vehicle costs more, the customer agrees to pay the price difference before the rental period begins.

If the customer chooses to cancel the booking due to a change of vehicle, the standard cancellation and refund policy will apply without exception.

3. Damage Liability and Repair Costs

The customer is financially responsible for all damages caused to the rental vehicle during the rental period.

Damage assessment and billing will follow these rules:

Authorized Inspection: Damages will be inspected and assessed by the car manufacturer’s dealership or any authorized repair center.

Non-Authorized Repair Centers: If an authorized repair center is not available, Fastrental may use a non-authorized repair shop, and their final invoice will be considered binding for the damage amount.

Loss of Use Charges: In addition to repair costs, the customer is liable for Loss of Use—the number of days the vehicle remains unavailable for future bookings due to damage. These days will be charged based on Fastrental’s prevailing daily rental rate for the damaged vehicle segment. All damage-related charges must be cleared by the customer before the completion of the rental agreement.

4. Outsourcing of Bookings

Fastrental reserves the full right to outsource bookings to: Partner car rental companies, Third-party providers & Verified individual vehicle owners. Such outsourcing may occur to fulfill customer demand, vehicle availability, or other operational needs. All bookings, regardless of the vehicle source, will remain governed by Fastrental’s rental policies unless expressly stated otherwise to the customer.

TRIP EXTENSION

  1. Trip extension requests are to be made at least 48 hour before the drop off time. Such requests are to be made to customer care/ Field executive over the phone. As per the booking schedule, they may confirm or deny the request depending on the vehicle availability. Trips can also be extended through our whatsapp channel.
  2. Charges for Trip extension: The standard rates will be applicable for extensions.

BOOKING CANCELLATION

  1. 0-48 Hours before start of the trip – The entire amount paid by the customer will be charged as cancellation fee. There will be NO REFUND made for such cancellations.
  2. More than 48 hours before start of the trip – Only the booking token amount will be deducted. Remaining rental amount will be refunded to the customer.  The refunded amount will reflect in the customer’s bank account within 7-10 business days.
  3. If any booking is cancelled by Fastrental due to non availability, a full refund will be initiated. The refunded amount will reflect in the customer’s bank account within 7-10 business days.
  4. No refund of the initial booking amount for cancellation of bookings post advance payment. Please send the booking token only after making the final plans. We only take 1 day rental charge as a booking token from the customer and in case of cancellation, we only deduct the booking token amount.
  5. No refund/reimbursement/cancellations claim will be considered after 24 hours of the completion of the booking period.
